I started playing myself at the age of 7 and enjoyed the instrument and music itself so much that I studied music for GCSE and A-Level. I have been teaching piano to adults and children of all levels since 2002, when I completed a 3-year teaching diploma at the Conservatory of Music in Dublin (now D.I.T). I also hold a DipLCM, ATCL, Masters in Sonic Arts from Queens University Belfast and am currently studying for a Masters in Research there with an emphasis on music production and music and sound design for film.
Apart from academic qualifications, I have 10 years experience playing/singing and recording in various punk, pop and rock bands. I have also accompanied singers and students of other instruments, played piano at weddings and in bars, had fun playing duets with my friends, formed a 20's style trio in Berlin and composed/created sound design for a few short films.
In short - I've had a lot of fun and wish my own students to eventually get out there and have some fun with their own musical skills. Learning to play the piano is a fantastic journey on its own, but it can also be the beginning of an exciting musical adventure ;)
